Material selection, reuse, and well-designed production processes are key strategies for using resources more efficiently in visual communication solutions. At TYPICO, we take these aspects into account right from the start—when selecting materials and developing our systems.

USING MATERIALS RESPONSIBLY
FOCUS ON
MATERIAL PROPERTIES.

It’s no coincidence that our industry focuses primarily on raw materials, auxiliary materials, and supplies that should be as sustainable as possible. The ingredients used to make our products are crucial when it comes to improving sustainability. typico offers the following highlights:

  • Water-based printing processes use printing systems that do not require solvent-based inks. The specific characteristics depend on the printing process and the materials used.
  • PVC-free backing materials are available in a variety of types, including select tarps, mesh and decorative fabrics, as well as other materials. Which options are suitable depends on the specific application and technical requirements.
  • For select applications, we process fabrics made entirely or partially from recycled raw materials. These include, for example, materials made from recycled PET. The exact composition and percentage of recycled content depend on the specific material and the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Our system profiles and connection techniques are designed for repeated use. With the right designs, components can be reused in different projects. This can help reduce the need for new system components.
  • Selected carrier materials can be folded and transported with a small transport volume. If designed appropriately, they can be reused multiple times. A reduced transport volume can help make more efficient use of transportation and storage capacity.
  • Not every material and not every application has the same requirements. That is why we take a nuanced approach to evaluating the properties of the materials and systems used. Manufacturer information, technical data sheets, and available documentation help us describe the respective properties in a clear and transparent manner.

PACKAGING & LOGISTICS
CREATE EFFICIENCY.

Packaging and logistics have a very special significance in the fields of textile architecture and visual marketing. The reason is obvious. In the vast majority of cases, we produce prototypes. Branding for trade fair stands, congresses, events, museums or facades and illuminated ceilings for special buildings. All projects have one thing in common, they are unique.

Their large image and textile productions are correspondingly different. There are no standardised packaging sizes and concepts that can be designed once for many thousands of pieces, as with a serial product. What helps is a setting of packaging materials and technology and a logistics process which meets the requirements of the market and can still be operated sustainably. Highlights are as follows:

  • We produce a separate box for each package on an internal system (Packsize). This reduces the amount of cardboard boxes required and at the same time reduces the volume of the packages to the absolute minimum.
  • We primarily use packaging materials that already consist of recycled raw materials and place the highest value on optimised packaging, without unnecessary use of materials.
  • On request, we produce in digital printing on foldable carrier materials that do not have to be shipped rolled on cardboard cores. This saves up to 80% of the packaging volume.

FAQ
Do you have questions?

As a matter of principle, only materials that can be fed into a controlled recycling process are used (offcuts & returned products). In addition, the focus in production is on 100% PVC-free carrier materials such as tarpaulins, mesh, deco fabrics, films and paper - "Typico Green Series".

In 2012, the planning of the Typico site and the company building was mainly based on wood. To create maximum value, attention was paid to energy-efficient construction, machinery that increases the efficiency of the building and an environment that blends in with Vorarlberg's beautiful natural surroundings.

All productions from our company are taken back by us at the end of their service life. We guarantee that all components are returned to a regulated recycling process.
